Higher mean serum values were reported in patients with morbid obesity, being statistically significant parameters (18.05 ±1.155 ng/mL vs. 16.36 ± 1.49 ng/mL, p = 0.0003 for adiponectin and 12.22 ± 3.80 ng/mL vs. 9.10 ± 1.89 ng/mL, p = 0.0001 for chemerin). This evidence concerns the gene ADIPOQ and morbid obesity.
