Specifically, in a retrospective longitudinal multicenter study conducted in Italy on patients with moderate pneumonia due to COVID-19 and treated with baricitinib and lopinavir-ritonavir, CRP levels were significantly reduced in the first week (p = 0.003) as well as in the second week (p = 0.001) compared to patients treated with standard therapy (antiviral agents plus hydroxychloroquine) [18]. Here, CRP is linked to susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
