CRP and temporal arteritis: Among those with a normal platelet count and a normal CRP (n = 34), an elevated ESR was not significantly associated with a diagnosis of GCA (standard reference: OR: 3.29; 95% CI: 0.39 to 27.78; p = 0.3; age-adjusted reference: OR: 3.00; 95% CI: 0.23 to 38.74; p = 0.4).
