Recently, Glycyrrhizin, a triterpenoid saponin from licorice (Glycyrrhyza glabra) roots, was reported to be valuable in the treatment of COVID-19 due to its multi-target mode of action, such as binding to ACE2, downregulating proinflammatory cytokines, and stimulating endogenous interferon [158].
