In this context, it was previously showed that non-statin lipid lowering therapies such as ezetimibe or proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin-type 9 inhibitors (PCSK9-i) were able to reduce LDL-C and ASCVD risk [8,9]; moreover, PCSK9 RNA silencing (siRNA) as well as ATP citrate lyase inhibitor (ACLY) have recently shown a significant LDL-C decrease [10,11]. Here, PCSK9 is linked to atherosclerosis.
