Neurodegeneration due to stroke leads to mitochondria-related oxidative stress, which may activate microglia, thereby triggering the infiltration of neuro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α (Kruskal–Wallis test = 21.52, p < 0.05) (Figure 6A), IL-6 (Kruskal–Wallis test = 20.30, p < 0.05) (Figure 6B), and IL-1b (Kruskal–Wallis test = 24.04, p < 0.05) (Figure 6C) into the whole brain tissue.
