Therefore, gene expression patterns and correlation with features of autism were studied in individuals with chromosome 15 disorders (Angelman, Prader-Willi and chromosome 15 duplication syndromes), including UBE3A gene and SNORD116, a paternally expressed transcript or snoRNA that serves as a precursor to the antisense UBE3A gene for regulation of its activity. Here, SNORD116 is linked to autism.
