This involves the production of numerous proinflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interferon alpha (INF-α) and interleukin 6 (Il-6), as well as activation of the Th1 and Th17 lymphocytes, which leads to cascade production of the main psoriasis mediators—mainly interleukin 17 (Il-17), interleukin 12 (Il-12) and interleukin 23 (Il-23) [4,5]. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is psoriasis.
