BRAF and cutaneous melanoma: Here we used the triple-wild-type term for those melanomas, where the usual oncogenic drivers, BRAF, RAS isoforms and KIT are wild type, and we used a cohort of the most common histological variants of skin melanomas—superficial spreading (SSM) and nodular (NM)—to see what kind of driver mutations were present and whether there was any unique actionability regarding these tumors, since they may represent a significant proportion of skin melanomas (~20%).
