Correlation analyses in patients with PAD found a significant, though weak, negative correlation between MPO–DNA and TcPO2 on proximal foot (ρ −0.284; p = 0.029) (Figure 2, Supplementary Table S1), which remained significant after inclusion in a multivariable regression analysis model including age, diabetes, and active smoking (adjusted ρ −0.287; p = 0.032). This evidence concerns the gene MPO and diabetes mellitus.
