Nowadays, germline testing of BRCA1/BRCA2 and other DDR genes is recommended in the early stages of PCa by various guidelines, including the NCCN, ESMO and EAU, for heritable disease identification, while tumour (somatic) mutation testing is mainly advocated for metastatic castration-resistant PCa (mCRPC) in relation to poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor treatment selection [9,10].
