ACTG1 promoted HCC proliferation in several ways: (1) regulating the cell cycle via increasing expression of cyclin A2, cyclin D1, cyclin E1, CDK2, and CDK4 which results in cell cycle transition in G0/G1 [92,93]; (2) inhibiting mitochondrial apoptosis pathway by decreasing Bax and cleaved poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase/caspase-3(PARP) [94,95]; and (3) upregulating the GLUT1 expression [15]. The gene discussed is ACTG1; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
