Bey et al. in 2013 first suggested that NQO1:CAT could be useful after finding that the use of exogenous catalase reduced the effects of β-lapachone in breast cancer [26], and higher NQO1:CAT was observed in NSCLC tumors that responded to treatment than in matched healthy tissue [27].
