In line with Chávez et al. (2010) [14] and Ftahy et al. (2013) [15], we found that celecoxib had therapeutic effects against liver fibrosis such that it reduced the CCl4-induced high plasma ALT level, fibrotic score, α-SMA positive area, oxidative stress markers, proinflammatory and profibrogenic cytokines, MMP9, and TIMP-1 compared to the CCl4 model group; p < 0.05.
