The primary endpoint (relapse of dilated cardiomyopathy, reduction in left ventricular ejection fraction, increase in left ventricular end-diastolic volume, increase in NT-pro-BNP, or clinical evidence of heart failure) was reached in 44% of patients that discontinued treatment, while none in the continuation of treatment arm reached the primary endpoint (Kaplan-Meier estimate of event rate 45.7% (95% CI 28.5–67.2); p = 0.0001). This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and heart failure.
