Long et al. (42) collected serum from 61 patients with PAH-CHD and 53 patients with CHD and found that serum miR-27b was upregulated in patients with PAH-CHD, while miR-451 was downregulated in patients with PAH-CHD, miR-27b and miR-451 were associated with B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), and that the associations were significantly correlated with disease severity. This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
