Zhang F. et al. (2022) explored the anticancer role of metformin in NSCLC patients receiving EGFR-TKIs, but only three studies published before August 2020 were included. Brancher et al. (2021) included ten cohort studies and four RCTs and came to the tentative conclusion that metformin use might be associated with improved OS of lung cancer patients; this result was similar to that of several other meta-analyses (Wan et al., 2016; Cao et al., 2017; Zhong et al., 2017; Zhang et al., 2018; Zeng et al., 2019; Xiao et al., 2020; Brancher et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and lung carcinoma.
