Venegas et al. (2017) reported that an anti-ASC antibody prevented Aβ from accumulating in APP/PS1 mice. de Rivero Vaccari et al. (2022) also demonstrated that IC100, an anti-ASC antibody, which is BBB permeable and binds ASC filaments, blocks IL-1β production in human blood cell inflammasome assays. In vivo testing of IC100 is warranted to determine its therapeutic potential in treating AD. The gene discussed is IL1B; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
