Venegas et al. (2017) reported that an anti-ASC antibody prevented Aβ from accumulating in APP/PS1 mice. de Rivero Vaccari et al. (2022) also demonstrated that IC100, an anti-ASC antibody, which is BBB permeable and binds ASC filaments, blocks IL-1β production in human blood cell inflammasome assays. In vivo testing of IC100 is warranted to determine its therapeutic potential in treating AD. This evidence concerns the gene APP and Alzheimer disease.
