While downregulation of other fatty acid transporters, such as FATP1 and FATP4, did not improve the sensitivity of ACM-treated cells to OV infection in our models (Supplementary Figures 7A, B), there are many other membrane-associated putative fatty acid carriers that display increased expression in cancer cells, including FATPs other than FATP2, the fatty acid translocase CD36 and fatty acid binding proteins (FABPs) (59–61). The gene discussed is SLC27A4; the disease is cancer.
