In previous experiments, inhibition of CDK5 with Roscovitine (a specific inhibitor of CDK5) not only restored sevoflurane‐induced cognitive deficits by promoting SIRT1‐mediated autophagy,25 but also alleviated diabetes‐related cognitive dysfunctions by downregulating abnormal expression of CDK5.26 This evidence concerns the gene CDK5 and diabetes mellitus.
