UGT1A1 and G6PD deficiency: Analysis of risk factors for duration of prolonged jaundice (Table 6) identified gestational age and positive Coomb’s test as significant factors in addition to the heterozygous and homozygous UGT1A1*6 genotypes (Incidence rate ratio[95%CI] of 1.4 [1.1–1.7], p = 0.001 and 2.4[1.5–3.9], p<0.001 respectively) and G6PD deficiency (hemi and homozygous genotypes, IRR[95%CI] = 1.6[1.2–2.3], p = 0.003).
