PTK2 and cancer: Examples of discoveries made by KSEA include the identification of protein kinase A as a mediator of an increasing cell metabolism in tumours with low FAK expression in cancer-associated fibroblasts [7], the identification of the MAPK-ROCK2 pathway being activated in cancer cells by loss of β-integrin in mural endothelial cells [136] and the discovery of MAPKAPK2 as a kinase downstream of MTOR that regulates the senescence secretome [137].
