We investigated whether fucosylation is correlated with drug sensitivity by comprehensive mining of available data on genes involved in fucose metabolism (FUK, FPGT, FX, GMDS), fucosylation branching (FUTs, protein O-fucosyltransferases [POFUTs]), and GDP-Fuc transport (SLC35C1) in the Genomics of Drug Sensitivity in Cancer (GDSC, https://www.cancerrxgene.org/) and the Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia (CCLE, https://sites.broadinstitute.org/ccle), two of the largest publicly available pharmacogenomics data sets (Iorio et al., 2016; Barretina et al., 2012). Here, GMDS is linked to cancer.
