Immunohistochemistry of tau inclusions indicated the presence of “Pick-like” bodies; however, both 3-repeat (3 R) and 4-repeat (4 R) tau were found in the insoluble tau fractions24, suggesting that the FTD-tau S320F tauopathy may be distinct from that of the 3 R tau isoform-specific Pick’s Disease. Here, MAPT is linked to Pick disease.
