CD4 and tuberculosis: These findings are characteristic of eastern Europe, which were clearly distinguished in a large prospective cohort study of TB co-infected PLHIV across eastern and western Europe, and Latin America and a low CD4 cell count was found as a factor related to the increased TB-related mortality: the adjusted odds of TB-related death in the cases with CD4 count ≤50 cells/μl were 2.45 and 3.46 in all study participants and patients from Eastern Europe region, respectively [16, 27].
