Prior studies have implicated varicella‐zoster virus, herpes simplex virus, and Epstein–Barr virus as contributing pathogens to triggering thymoma‐associated autoimmune disorders,4 but we would like to highlight the first case of AMPA‐R and CRMP‐5 encephalitis associated with concurrent SARS‐CoV‐2 infection. The gene discussed is DPYSL5; the disease is encephalitis.
