In this study, a total of 11 variants at 9 genes (AGT, AGTR1, ADD1, ACE2, CACNA1C, NEDD4L, NR1H3, PTPRD, MMP3) are chosen and genotyped in a Chinese prospective cohort study including 1837 patients with hypertension, aiming to explore the association of variants with the changes in blood pressure in response to antihypertensive drugs treatment and the risk of cardiovascular events during the follow-up. The gene discussed is CACNA1C; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
