INS and diabetes mellitus: Day-to-day use of wearable diabetes technology such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) has increased in the United Kingdom over recent years, partly related to recent guidelines which have led to improved access.1,2 Use of these technologies has been shown to improve safety for people with diabetes in community settings by reducing both HbA1c and hypoglycaemia.3, -5 It is reasonable to think that the same features which lead to these improvements in the community could also lead to improved diabetes management in hospital.
