In the old age group (OF v OM), there were many more autosomally-encoded DEGs by sex, with markers of disease-associated microglia (21) (i.e., Csf1, Itgax, Cst7) being more highly expressed in old females than old males (as identified in at least one methodology) (Figure 5H–I, K–L).
