In the xenograft neuroblastoma model, anti-CD56 therapy led to the tumour burden control but had only modest effect on survival.34 More studies are needed in regard to neuroblastoma therapy and other CD56 positive tumours but CD56 could eventually serve as a potential target for the treatment of CD56+ DLBCL patients who do not respond to the standard therapeutic schemes. The gene discussed is NCAM1; the disease is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
