HMGCS1 and acute myeloid leukemia: Importantly, HMGCS1 is a key enzyme in the mevalonate pathway of cholesterol synthesis with oncogenic activities in AML patients where has been found overexpressed in newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory patients [20]. The most differentially positively expressed genes according to their adjusted p-value were H1-0 (p-adjusted value = 8.36 × 10–54, 9.02 fold change) and IRF7 (p-adjusted value = 8.75 × 10–34, 14.58 fold change).
