In patients with ACLE, generalised ACLE was more associated with systemic involvement (fever, renal involvement, haematological abnormalities and arthritis), LE-non-specific cutaneous lesions (livedo reticularis, vasculitis, periungual telangiectasia and Raynaud’s phenomenon), positive autoantibodies (anti-U1-nRNP, anti-Sm, anti-dsDNA and ANA) and papulosquamous SCLE, whereas localised ACLE is more associated with chronic urticaria (figure 5A). This evidence concerns the gene BTG3 and vasculitis.
