Other groups have shown that mice treated with PAR-1 agonists developed a more severe phenotype in a glomerulonephritis model.29 The PAR-1 antagonist Q94 is known to protect against nephropathy in adriamycin-treated mice.10 On the other hand, PAR-1 KO mice do not develop streptozotocin-induced glomerular damage.30 What is not tested in the current literature is the result of PAR-1 receptor overactivation.
