In multivariable analysis, age, sex, smoking, stroke, dementia, Sequential Organ Failure Assessment score, mechanical ventilation, and white blood cell were associated with increased risk of delirium, while albumin level at CICU admission (adjusted OR 0.555; 95% CI 0.402–0.767; p < 0.001) was associated with decreased risk of delirium. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and dementia.
