There are many putative susceptibility risk genes for AD that have been reported, such as Apolipoprotein E (ApoE) (Corder et al., 1993), Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3-β (GSK3β) (Kwok et al., 2008; Hernández et al., 2009), Dual-Specificity Tyrosine-Regulated Kinase 1A (DYRK1A) (Kimura et al., 2007), Tau (Myers et al., 2005; Caffrey and Wade-Martins, 2007), Translocase of Outer Mitochondrial Membrane 40 Homolog (TOMM40) (Chiba-Falek et al., 2018), and Phosphatidylinositol Binding Clathrin Assembly Protein (PICALM) (Mercorio et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene TOMM40 and Alzheimer disease.
