To examine activation in vivo, we used a well-established trauma model and measured PRKD activity and concomitant nuclear factor k-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NFκB) activation by pP65S536-phosphorylation to indicate pro-inflammatory signaling in lung lysates 4 h after blunt chest trauma (TxT) in mice (14). The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is injury.
