In hepatocellular carcinoma, the overexpression of ANXA2 (Zhang et al., 2013), ANXA3 (Guo et al., 2021a), ANXA4 (Liu et al., 2017), ANXA5 (Sun et al., 2018) and ANXA11 (Liu et al., 2019) promotes proliferation because ANXA2–ANXA5 affect Wnt/β-catenin, MEK-ERK, PI3K/AKT-HIF-α and other pathways.
