The increase in the expression of the Galectin-3 is observed by RT-PCR or immunohistochemistry in different types of cancers, including breast, colon, gastric, hepatocellular, anaplastic large-cell lymphoma, head and neck squamous cell, tongue, non-small cell lung, and well differentiated thyroid (reviewed by 23, 25).
