CRP and lymphopenia: Recent meta-analyses have described various biomarkers, such as lymphopenia, thrombocytopenia, elevated procalcitonin (PCT), C-reactive protein (CRP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), serum amyloid A (SSA), D-dimer, ferritin, troponin, B-type natriuretic peptides, creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and elevated cytokines, including IL-6, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-8, and IL-10, to be associated with worse clinical outcomes and mortality in COVID-19 (4–10).
