Patients with high ALDH2 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma have a good prognosis (Zhang and Fu, 2021), and the inhibition of ALDH2 expression could enhance tumor cell proliferation, stemness and migration, resulting in poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma patients (Li et al., 2019), which is consistent with our findings. The gene discussed is ALDH2; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
