S100A7 and chorioamnionitis: In utero exposure to placental inflammation, i.e., histological chorioamnionitis, increased the psoriasin [3.0 (1.4–7.7) vs. 9.9 (5.6–13.0) ng/ml, p < 0.0001] expression on the skin of preterm infants (see Figure 3), particularly for day 0 [1.4 (0.8–3.1) vs. 6.9 (3.4–12.3) ng/ml, p < 0.0001] and day 7 [2.7 (1.5–6.2) vs. 6.3 (3.1–13.2) ng/ml, p = 0.014] after birth.
