The FUT2 gene polymorphism has additionally been associated with a diverse set of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, including Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, Behcet’s disease, type 1 diabetes, and autoimmune neutropenia of early childhood (Franke et al., 2010; McGovern et al., 2010; Miyoshi et al., 2011; Rausch et al., 2011; Smyth et al., 2011; Ellinghaus et al., 2012; Forni et al., 2014; Tang et al., 2014; Maroni et al., 2015; Xavier et al., 2015; Ihara et al., 2017; Kløve-Mogensen et al., 2022).
