Since the presence of FUT2 null alleles correlate with the risk of several inflammatory or autoimmune diseases, and since F. prausnitzii-reactive DP8α Tregs appear to protect against intestinal inflammation (Touch et al., 2022), we tested whether the frequency of circulating DP8α Tregs or fecal F. prausnitzii abundance associated with the FUT2 status. This evidence concerns the gene FUT2 and autoimmune disease.
