In addition to forming a defense line against pathogens, tissue‐resident macrophages promote tissue repair and regeneration following injury.[29] Herein, we pointed out YTHDC1 expression in macrophages derived from IBD or colitis samples is decreased and macrophage‐specific deficiency of YTHDC1 accelerates disease development in animal colitis models. The gene discussed is YTHDC1; the disease is inflammatory bowel disease.
