In our study, apolipoprotein A1 decreased by 1 SD among males compared with an increase of 0.2 SDs in females from 7 years to 25 years; the same MR study showed that higher genetically predicted apolipoprotein A1 was associated with 0.83 lower odds (95% CI 0.77 to 0.89) of CHD in mid-life. The gene discussed is APOA1; the disease is coronary artery disorder.
