SUMOylation of KHSRP probably increases its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, thus inhibiting its interaction with the pri-miRNA/DROSHA-DGCR8 complex, therefore SUMOylation of KHSRP results in the downregulation of TL-G-Rich miRNAs such as let-7 family, which is linked to tumorigenesis and cancer progression (Figure 4A) (Yuan et al., 2017).
