CD133 (human prominin-1), a kind of glycoprotein with five transmembrane regions, has been identified as a valid CSC marker in gastrointestinal cancers including gastric, liver, colorectal, pancreatic cancers (106–109) and other cancers like lung (110), brain (10), and prostate cancers (16). Here, PROM1 is linked to familial pancreatic carcinoma.
