IL7 and lymphopenia: A previous study by our group, conducted in a small cohort of patients with sepsis, showed that CYT107, a glycosylated recombinant human IL-7, administered intramuscularly was well-tolerated, and reversed the sepsis-induced lymphopenia by causing a two–threefold increase in the absolute lymphocyte counts (ALC) compared to patients who received placebo [14].
