Shin et al. [33] showed that, after 24 h of reperfusion, pretreatment with anthocyanins extracted from the bilberry (300 mg/kg of anthocyanins) enabled a reduction in the size of the cerebral infarction, a finding which may have been related to the suppression of the JNK and p53 signaling pathways. The gene discussed is MAPK8; the disease is brain infarction.
