WEE1 and cancer: An initial inspection of the tree provides many insights, three of which are (1) an evolutionary view of plant families that are rich sources of protein kinase inhibitors, (2) botanical families that have yet to be interrogated for small molecule inhibitors, and (3) a rational approach to choosing complementary botanical families for the prevention of a particular type of cancer-based on the driver kinases that are involved in the carcinogenic process, i.e., precision oncology.
