The interactions of folic acid and leucovorin with NRP-1 described in this study demonstrated that, in addition to recognizing their ability to inhibit viral internalization, it is also useful to evaluate the therapeutic potential of these compounds during disease progression, particularly in the prevention of severe cardiovascular complications, bearing in mind the role of NRP-1 receptors as a target for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Here, NRP1 is linked to cardiovascular disorder.
